The weather was challenge again this year. The thunderstorms and flooding of Houston streets on Friday afternoon were forecast again for the Saturday (day 1 of the ride) this made for a very difficult decision by the MS150 to cancel the first day of the ride, for safety reasons. This news came on Friday at 5:00 p.m. we had to very quickly plan how to transport Team Geokinetics
from the hotel in Houston to the camp in La Grange on Saturday. Thankfully the weather didn’t really affect our plans too badly as our camp was again at the very beautiful St. James’ Episcopal Church in La Grange, everything was arranged, all we had to do was get our riders and their bikes there. So what did we do? In true Geokinetics style, our team arrived via two stretch limos, nothing but the best for us! So, we found ourselves spending an unexpected, fabulous afternoon in the Texas Hill Country, hanging out, playing games and generally enjoying time together.
Late on Saturday afternoon, it was announced by the MS150 organizers that Day 2 of the ride would go ahead, the weather was going to co-operate and the start line would be in La Grange at 8:00 a.m. on Sunday morning, 4 blocks away from our camp!
Everyone arrived safely in Austin, a little bit battered by the wind, but safe, sound and happy.
Congratulations to everyone of our riders both for your fund raising efforts and for completing the ride, well done.
We applaud the efforts of all of Team Geokinetics volunteers who made the whole event happen.
Thank you Geokinetics for giving all of us the opportunity to take part in the BPMS150 2009, this year was another great experience for Team Geokinetics. Click Here To View Video
