Why We Participate in The BPMS150

The BPMS150 is a two-day fundraising bike ride from Houston to Austin organized by the National MS Society, Lone Star Chapter.  It is the largest non-profit event of its kind in North America.  The National MS Society believes that moving is not just something you can or can’t do, but rather is who you are. This is why events like the BP MS 150 are produced to raise funds for research, as well as comprehensive programs and services for people with MS – moving closer to a world free of MS.

2009 marked the 25th Anniversary of this Annual BP MS 150 event.

The benefit of Team Geokinetics participation in this annual event is two-fold.  One, we are trying to raise as much money as we can in the form of donations to our riders who complete the two-day tour and two, we use the event as a form of internal company reward scheme.  Geokinetics employees from our worldwide operations have to go through a selection process to qualify for the team.  It is a great honor to be selected to travel to Houston each year to take part in the BPMS150.  The tour is a great way to bring members of the worldwide Geokinetics family together.  Some of our riders would not ordinarily be required to travel across the globe for their jobs so the ride is a good excuse to bring them to Texas to meet and spend time with their colleagues.

The BPMS150 is a big event on our company calendar with training and preparations beginning in January.  Volunteering with the team is enormously rewarding, hard work, but fun as well.  With our sights set on raising more money each year we do it, we are already talking about the 2010 ride.

Most importantly, we really must thank everyone from the bottom of our hearts, for sponsoring the riders of Team Geokinetics, your generosity is truly appreciated.

This year we had a team of 32 riders comprising Geokientics
